ROI REVIEW REPORT - CHINQUAPIN AQUATICS FACILITY

In 2012, the City of Alexandria commissioned a comprehensive aquatics study that prompted the addition of a new 50-meter pool at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility.  After completing a feasibility report, Advocates for Alexandria Aquatics and the City Council turned to industry professionals to create a Strategic Plan Performace to evaluate the current and potential corporate engagement opportunities available.

Project Update: The City Council has since decided not to move forward with the funding for the Chinquapin pool expansion.

Sports Asset Partners was contracted to evaluate the expansion of the Chinquapin Recreation and Aquatics Center in regards to current and projected corporate engagement revenue streams for both the aquatic and non-aquatic uses of the facility. An evaluation of all facility assets showed that a minimum of $230,000 per year could be generated at the existing facility through sponsorships; a number that increased to over $430,000 by the second year of operation of the new facility.
