Everyone knows Snapchat. It's that ghost of an app, that omnipresent social-media platform that lets you look like a cat, at least for a few seconds. But Snapchat is a great way to tell a story – with photos, video, or a live stream - and We Sell Events had a great story to tell.
More than 8,000 police officers and fire fighters from 71 nations came to Los Angeles in August of 2017 for the World Police & Fire Games, “where heroes play.” This competition, and these men and women, provided a tremendous story that We Sell Events had to tell – and Snapchat was the best way to tell it.
Snapchat Stories is the way Snapchat users can broadcast their unique story on a global scale. It's an ideal platform just made for big-time international events like the WPFG.
We Sell Events worked with Snapchat at the highest corporate level, earning the Games the absolute best possible location: on the front page of the Snapchat homescreen. That's a spot reserved for the biggest of big-time events, events with global magnitude and the highest interest.
Our work with Snapchat drove impressions and viewership for the World Police & Fire Games. The hashtag #LA17 trended on social media during the event – more than 4,000,000 Snapchat Story views of the WPFG live broadcast! That figure outperformed the National Football League. People from the United States, Canada, Mexico, India and Australia watched the Games through Snapchat, rooting on their favorite heroes.
By partnering with Snapchat to tell the Story of the Games, We Sell Events created a unique, custom story for the whole world to see. WSE will continue to work with Snapchat to produce creative, innovative ways to tell all the amazing stories from our events.
